Ok, gonna admit something big here, I’m a freaking slob, bought one of these cause all the chemicals I was buying to clean my tub couldn’t cut through the hard water stains or soap scum, or anything else that may have been present in the tub. Last resort before replacing the tub, I bought one of the Mr Clean Magic erasers for kitchen & bath w/ febreze, it worked magic on that tub, everything came up, hard water, soap scum, and anything else that may have been in the tub, it looks so nice now ^^ My only complaint being that it took a 3 sponges to do the job. Well, considering the level of grime, I suppose that could be expected, just wish I coulda done it with 1 2 pack

This product lives up to its name. For certain challenging jobs, it is an amazing product that can save the day. For example, we discovered extensive blue stains on our beautiful claw-foot oak dining room table this morning, and it was readily apparent that our kids had done the damage, wielding a permanent “Sharpie” marker without sufficient backing material under the paper they were drawing on. Those who are experienced with Sharpies know how indelible the dense dye ink dye is on nearly any surface – but particularly if soaked into the grain of a porous substance like wood. As I shook my head in resignation that our heirloom table would be permanently marred, my wife broke out the Magic Eraser, and in the space of one minute the stain completely disappeared. The finish on the table was unchanged, but somehow the indelible ink was gone. I was truly amazed.

Some have commented about the durability of the sponge material. Apparently we haven’t put the Magic Eraser through the kind of punishment that shortens its life. Ours seems to have plenty of life left in it – but I wouldn’t care if it was already

destroyed. It has paid for itself a thousand times over in saving this piece of furniture.

*NOTHING gets stains off like a magic eraser. Not bleach, polish remover, or heavy scrubbing. Yes, it removes permanent marker too! I have a tyrannous four year old who’s been that way since he was one. He draws murals on the walls instead of scribble here, and there. This got every single mark off. I used bleach, and of course it splattered, and got on the carpet, acetone remover, and yes it took off some of the paint, but not all of the writing, and even hand sanitizer which worked well, but fumigated the room badly. So I got a Magic Eraser, and without messing up the paint, or carpet, harsh fumes or heavy scrubbing with little difference, it magically erased the writing, scuffs, and any other mark I could find. It does crumble to bits, but it’s nothing a trash can, and a little vacuuming won’t fix. However, it’s not sensible to think this will clean a carpet, an entire room, your oven, or anything like that. So for the few of you who will try, don’t bother.

These aren’t all-purpose sponges for mopping up messes from Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, these are for serious scrubbing when nothing else will work. As such, they will not last long, but they’ll do the task and that is what I purchase them for.

These sponges are created from melamine foam, a soundproofing material that simply happens to own the extraordinary ability to wash up robust jobs like baked on oil (you know what I am talking concerning, that brown film that looks like burnt sugar? The things that withstands nearly every other kind of abrasive?) black heel marks, and big, grimy marks on your walls. Do not waste these scrubbing pots unless everything else has failed as a result of they’re your final defense against dirt. If this stuff don’t stop working the mess, you will probably need a flamethrower. How does it work? Well from what I’ve read, melamine foam could be a reasonably resin which is, on a microscopic level, extraordinarily rough and abrasive. However on a real-person level it feels kind of sentimental and squishy. Yes it will get burnt up quick which is why I say to not waste it on things that may be cleaned in alternative ways. And don’t put too much pressure on the sponge; let it do the work, not your muscles. You’ll both last longer. It also stains quite simply however it does not transfer those stains to different surfaces.

Can you utilize it on ceramic cooktops? I’ve got and mine don’t look any the more serious for wear, however if you are scared to attempt, then don’t. There are plenty of different cleaning agents for cooktops.

Long story short, they’re fantastic for stubborn messes, however they do not last a long time like most sponges.

I have no idea how these Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Foaming Cleaner Cleaning Pads work. They don’t seem abrasive at all, yet they take off all kinds of nasty stuff from walls, sinks, bathtubs, etc. Crayon..gone. Sharpie…gone. Shoe scuff marks on doors…gone.

They do sort of disappear when scrubbing. I guess the cleaning agent or whatever actually IS the sponge rather than a sponge with cleaner in it, so it disintegrates. The harder you push (sometimes you have to if it is a rougher surface) the faster it is gone. Like another reviewer said, the blue part is a regular sponge, so you can flip it over if you need to. Plus, as the material disappears, you still have something to hold onto (I use them until ALL the white is gone!)
