Ikea Orgel Floor Lamp Review

Purchased 2 of these lamps from IKEA @ $20 each (GREAT BUY!). This floor lamp is an excellent addition to ANY room (living room, bed room, dorm rooms). Small footprint. The switch is a step-on switch part of the power cord (convenient). Takes 3 model E12 light bulbs, again IKEA sells a 9W (40W equivalent) 2-pack for $5. I think the floor lamp caps out at 40W max, anything above is probably a fire hazard (i.e. 3 x 100W bulbs isn’t recommended). Overall, an excellent buy. Highly recommended!!

This review is for the stopper and not the actual waste king disposal (disposer works great though and easy install for our plumber). We’ve had the disposer for a few years now and for some reason the old rubber one kind of stretched with washing it in dishwasher, I guess. Anyway, when I would push food down, the splash guard sometimes would fall in the hole. Bought the new one and although my hole was slightly over 3″, the guard I received was 3″ and I carefully worked it down, voila, fits perfectly and doesn’t fall in when I push food down. I’m anticipating that it too may stretch somewhat with use, so I will order another one to keep on hand when I order some other item from Amazon. I’m wondering how much research others did when looking for a splash guard as there seem to be so many complaints. Have patience and just slowly work around the circle as you seat the guard in, it will fit! Yes, would have preferred to buy just the splash guard and not the stopper as I already had one.

I wish Amazon would separate their reviews for actual guards or disposers, not bunch them in altogether. This goes for other companies also. Case in point are the TV’s, looking at reviews I would find all different models for same brand in one place. Time consuming when one is trying to get an accurate review.

Waste King H710-U-SN Reviews

I bought the satin nickel unit last week and installed it this week. Shipping was a respectable couple of days and everything arrived as described. The unit works very well, operates with zero noise and has not given me any problems to date. I have installed $400 units sold at Home Depot and I would never pay 3 times as much for those units compared to the Quick and Hot. The faucet is sturdy, of a high quality and does not look out of place in high priced kitchen. Great buy at less then $150.

Pros: Faucet is well constructed, multiple finishes available, adjustable temperature dial, 1 year warranty, price

Cons: Water drains back into the unit after use resulting in a 1-2 second delay at each use, the connections are all 1/4″ copper tube pressure fittings (will leak if not sealed correctly), saddle tap valve is not included.

I have been looking to replace my poor performing faucet for some time. Over the holiday break, I took my wife to Lowes to see what she liked. This Delta 19922-SSSD was $258 and we both liked the styling and the features. We thought the side mounted handle was odd but seems to be common these days. I check Amazon and was surprised at how much cheaper it was. It arrived in 2 days with Prime and I installed this weekend. The old clunker took 30 minutes to remove because of the number of pipes going through a single mounting nut. The new one has a mounting bracket that doesn’t have to go around the pipes so it look less than 10 minutes to install. Great design. The instructions make everything seem more complicated because it is for numerous models and languages. My family is quite happy with the look and function. I would certainly recommend

As a matter of full disclosure, I am using this drill as a DIY homeowner on minor projects. This drill was my upgrade into the world of pro-grade power tools from a cheapo 14.4V Black & Decker drill. I upgraded primarily because I was frustrated by having to drill pilot holes for lag screws all the time due to the lack of power. Furthermore, my former so-called variable speed drill only had two speeds, namely 400 or 800 rpm, nothing in between so I was constantly stripping screw heads. After doing some serious research into Makita, Milwaukee, Hitachi, and Dewalt, I chose Dewalt. Why? Because of the power and construction of the tool. Dewalt uses its own measurement of torque (Unit Watts Out) whereas most other companies list max torque in ft-lbs. In my opinion, I best equate UWO to the amplifier rating in audio receivers. In receivers, many companies list their amplifier rating with only one channel driven. Rarely do companies list amplifier rating with all channels driven. UWO, to me, is Dewalt’s real world sustained torque rating like all channels driven in an amplifier. So for this drill, although Dewalt lists it at 410 UWO, I think this probably equates to nearly peak torque of at least 450 ft lbs if not more. Also, I really liked the fact that Dewalt uses all-metal gears and it has solid magnet construction in its motor.

For whatever reason, although most companies have wholeheartedly embraced the Lion technology, Dewalt has chose to slowly move into it and, thus, still has a large portion of tools with NiCd batteries. I really debated about the whole NiCd v Lion thing. But really, for my purposes, I doubt I will be using the drill so much that I will use up 2 batteries. I really think having a back-up battery negates the charge time issue. Of course there’s the weight issue, but again, for me, a difference in weigh of 6-8 oz is not a game breaker.

The closest drill to the DC720KA was the Hitachi DS18DSAL. Really solidly constructed drill with good power. Unfortunately, from a purely superficial standpoint, the Hitachi looks like a toy with the green molding. So I went with the Dewalt. In terms of real world performance, really happy so far. Was able to drill 2″ long – 1/8″ dia. screws into studs without a pilot, no problem. This sucker has power. Really like the LED light. The added heft of the NiCd gives the drill really good balance. Trigger felt right and was able to modulate speed very accurately (true variable speed!). I hope this review helps because other reviews just seem to spout off Dewalt sucks or “it’s not lithium so it sucks” type comments.
